I was nervous about wallpapering our whole bedroom I was nervous about wallpapering our whole bedroom. Would it end up feeling too busy? Thank goodness, just the opposite happened! Maybe it had something to do with how chaotic it already felt due to having lived with a bunch of paint color samples on all the walls for the last year😅, but the room feels calm and cozy, and I’m so happy I went for it!

Wallpaper is by @spoonflower and designed by @smoke.in.the.woods

Whatever gets the job done, right?😅 Whatever gets the job done, right?😅
I picked Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze for these I picked Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze for these built-ins and have absolutely no regrets! It’s a beautiful color and is a bit of a chameleon throughout the day as the light changes.
The blackout shade in our bedroom was being held t The blackout shade in our bedroom was being held together with painters tape🙈 so let’s just say it was more than time for an upgrade! This @smartwingshome roller shade is completely customizable, and I even got a solar powered one!

Plus I feel like any time you can use a remote, it makes your home feel super fancy😅

Be honest, is there anything being held together by tape in your house?!
It takes me forever to get motivated to start, so It takes me forever to get motivated to start, so once I get going on a project, I don’t want to stop and ask for any kind of help😅 It’s just called resourcefulness, right?
A million paint samples later… and wallpaper wins! A million paint samples later… and wallpaper wins!

I was *thisclose* to settling on paint, but nothing felt right for this room. The second I saw this wallpaper from @spoonflower (gifted), everything clicked.

I’ll be honest, I was nervous the pattern might feel too busy (not exactly the calm bedroom vibe I wanted), but the way it plays with the vaulted ceiling is actually perfect.

Proof that sometimes the “riskier” choice is the right one!

If you’re thinking about peel & stick, here’s what helped me:
- Let it lay flat for a few hours first
- Start in a corner and use a laser level (spoiler alert: your walls probably aren’t perfectly straight🤪)
- Use the right tools. A smoother and a fresh utility blade are all you need. Change the blade often for clean cuts!
- For corners, trim it to about an inch past the edge. It will be a lot easier to smooth around the corner. Then line up your next piece and trim it to overlap slightly.
- Patience really is key.
- And most of all, don’t stress! Once it’s up, I promise you won’t notice any imperfections.

If you’ve been debating wallpaper, this is your sign to go for it! Comment WALLPAPER and I’ll send you my favorite Spoonflower picks (including this one)!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the black accent wall Don’t get me wrong, I loved the black accent wall in our bedroom! But I’ve also been wanting to change things up and make the space feel more warm and cozy.

I lived with random paint samples on our walls for over a year, so it’s more than time to make some design decisions and get started!

#ad I spent the last two years renovating our prim #ad I spent the last two years renovating our primary bathroom, and then didn’t do a thing about the most used thing in the room - the switches! Thanks to @leviton, I now have switches that actually feel like they were meant to be part of the design.

And beyond the elevated look, their function is next level. The Humidity Sensor Switch makes sure I never forget to turn the fan on or off, and the Motion Sensing Dimmer Switch keeps harsh light away as I start my day or in the middle of the night. And the best part is, my bathroom actually feels finished.

Let this be your sign to not skip the finishing details. They make all the difference!
