Essential Painting Supplies
Paint is one of the easiest ways to update a space in your home. It’s also one of the most budget friendly DIYs. As important as picking out the right paint color is, having the right painting supplies is equally important. It will make any painting project go faster and smoother for you! Here are my must-have supplies for painting any room in your home:

- WOOSTER BRUSH
This is hands down my favorite paintbrush. They’re comfortable to hold and allow me to cut in and do any edging by hand. The bristles hold a good amount of paint too so I feel like I can efficiently get a space painted. - ROLLER & ROLLER COVERS
If you’re going to be painting walls, you’re going to need roller frames and covers! - HANDY BUCKET
I like to use this small bucket when I’m going to be doing a lot of cutting in on walls or painting smaller areas with a paintbrush. It’s got a flexible handle that you can comfortably slip one hand into while you hold the paintbrush in your other hand. This lets you move around the room and cover a bigger space without having to keep going back to your paint can or carry it along with you. - PAINTER’S TAPE
FrogTape has proven time and again to me to be the best painter’s tape. They have two different kinds – green is what I use for most projects. The yellow kind is made for delicate surfaces. If you’ve recently painted an area and will be repainting or are doing something like using painting multiple colors, the yellow tape is best to prevent any newer paint from peeling. - DROP CLOTHS
I’ll be honest – a lot of the time, I’m a rebel and don’t use a drop cloth. The LVP flooring I’ve been laying in our home is amazing when it comes to paint drops. I can either wipe them up as they happen or let them dry and peel them off. But, when I’m in a carpeted room, I lay down a drop cloth to ensure any drips or spills don’t get into the carpet. This is a super affordable option and can be reused. - TRIANGLE STANDS
These little stands are so handy if you’re going to be painting cabinets. I’ve used them when I painted our kitchen cabinets and when I renovated a camper that had cabinets in the kitchen, living area, bathroom, and bedroom! It makes having to paint both sides of the cabinet doors go much quicker because you don’t have to wait for paint to completely cure on one side before painting the other one. As long as the paint is dry, you can flip the door over and prop it on these stands. - REPAINT TRAY
This was a brilliant product invented by a fellow DIYer, and it’s a reusable paint tray! As a working mom, I can’t always get projects done at one time (ok, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a project done in one shot!). The Repaint Tray has a lid that will keep your paint and your brush/roller fresh in between working on a project! The paint alone will stay fresh for several weeks! And when you’re done with a project, you just let it dry out and peel the paint off of it and it’s ready to use again!
